Do I need any prior experience to take a discovery flight?
Nope! Discovery flights are designed for complete beginners. You’ll get a hands-on intro to flying with a certified instructor by your side the whole time.

How old do I need to be to start flying lessons?
You can start learning at any age, but to fly solo you’ll need to be at least 16 years old, and 17 to get your private pilot license.

What should I bring to my discovery flight or first lesson?
Just bring a valid photo ID, wear comfortable clothes and sunglasses, and don’t forget your sense of adventure. We’ll handle the rest.

How long does a flight lesson last?
Most lessons run about 1 to 1.5 hours, including preflight briefings and time in the air. Longer or customized sessions are also available.

What aircraft will I be flying?
You’ll typically fly a Cessna 172, 182, or Piper aircraft, depending on the type of lesson and availability. All are safe, reliable training planes.

Is it safe to fly in this area?
Yes! Carson City and the surroundingarea offer excellent training conditions, with good weather, scenic views, and great opportunities to learn mountain flying and high-density altitude operations.

How much does it cost to become a pilot?
It varies based on your pace and consistency. We’ll walk you through a rough estimate during your first lesson or discovery flight so you know what to expect.

Can I bring someone with me on a discovery flight?
In some cases, yes, depending on the aircraft and instructor approval. Just ask ahead of time so we can plan accordingly.

What’s your cancellation policy?
We ask for at least 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. No-shows may be subject to a fee.
